A housewife was injured in a kitchen fire in a mountain restaurant in the Solothurn Jura on Saturday. She suffered from smoke poisoning. Local residents extinguished the fire before the fire department arrived. The cause of the fire is likely to be a technical defect.
The resident in the house in Aedermannsdorf was woken up by a bang around 1:00 am and noticed smoke in the building, the Solothurn canton police said. The fire department moved in with a total of 20 emergency services. These could prevent the flames from spreading to the living area on the upper floor and the neighboring farm.
A total of tens of thousands of francs in property damage was incurred. Initial investigations by specialists have shown that the question of the cause of the fire is focused on a technical defect, the police wrote.
