The match started in twenty-six degree heat and undisturbed sunshine, during which Kisvárda quickly took the lead: in the eighth minute, with Makowski’s excellent start, Navratil came out and lifted the ball over the running Banai. The home team was much more proactive than their opponent, this was indicated by another situation and a shot on goal, and then the second goal was scored: after Koburi’s ball sale, Mesanovic calmly passed into the visitors’ goal.

With the attack of Kisvárda, Újpest got into trouble, whose defense was uncertain several times, and the team from the capital could hardly carry out an attack. However, in the 28th minute, Ambrose received a great jump from the half-court by Geiger, and in the 16-yard box, Kovács Marcell threw himself in front of him and cut him down. Ljujic shot the penalty into the lower right corner.

However, Újpest could not be happy for long, soon another domestic goal was scored from a header after a free kick. Apart from the 11-point run, the visiting team had no meaningful attack, and the penalty kick was the only attempt to hit the goal.

Géza Mészöly tried to intervene in the development of the match with two substitutions in the second half, but he was not successful, as soon as Makowski increased the advantage of the home team with a bomb goal. Another double substitution followed for the visitors in the 63rd minute, but one of the new players, Ganea, was taken off the field on a stretcher ten minutes later due to a knee injury. Kisvárda continued to have many chances, which deservedly won a dominant victory.
