Eight Ukrainian universities entered the ranking of the best universities in the world / GORDON

In total, 1,300 universities were included in the ranking this year. The top is compiled according to six key parameters: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-to-student ratio, faculty citation, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio.

The highest position among Ukrainian universities was taken by the Kharkiv National University named after Karazin – it is located in the range of 511-520. At the same time, the university passed its positions comparing with the previous yearwhen he was in 477th place.

A number of Ukrainian establishments have not changed their positions compared to last year:

  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – 601-650th place;
  • National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” – 651-700th place;
  • National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” – 701-750th place;
  • Sumy State University – 701-750th place;
  • National University “Lviv Polytechnic” – 801-1000th place;
  • National University “Kiev-Mohyla Academy” – 1001-1200th.

At the same time, the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv was included in the rating for the first time. He was on the 1001-1200 place.

The leader of the rating is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of the USA. In second place is the University of Oxford (UK), which has greatly improved its position (last year it was the fifth). The third is Stanford (USA) and Cambridge (UK) universities. Harvard University (USA) closes the top five.

The QS World University Rankings are compiled by the British consulting company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
