1- The date of the opening of the King Fahd Causeway

The idea of ​​​​establishing the King Fahd Causeway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia dates back to the year 1965, when King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, then King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, visited the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia and met with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the two sides expressed A desire to build a bridge linking the two countries with the aim of strengthening relations and bonds of love between them.

Accordingly, the agreement to construct the King Fahd Causeway was signed on July 8, 1981 AD, and in the same year in September, implementation work began to build the bridge, at the hands of the Dutch Plast Needam Company, until the construction of the bridge was completed and it was officially opened on November 26. From the year 1986, that is, on Rabi’ al-Awwal 24, 1407 AH, in the presence of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at that time, as well as Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Emir of Bahrain.

2- Design of King Fahd Causeway

As for the design of the King Fahd Bridge in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which reaches the Kingdom of Bahrain, thousands of tons of reinforced iron and cement and thousands of cubic meters of sand, concrete and rocks were used.
