Kim Kardashian and Dr. Eric Esrailian Urge President Joe Biden to Address Living Conditions of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh

Kim Kardashian asks President Joe Biden to look into the living conditions of Armenians in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, occupied by Azerbaijan.

The influencer wrote a commentary with Dr. Eric Esrailian, an Emmy-nominated physician and film producer, who calls on Joe Biden and other world leaders to “end the Armenian genocide.”

“We are Armenians. We are the descendants of the survivors of the Armenian genocide and we do not want to talk about recognizing or commemorating another genocide in the future,” they wrote in Rolling Stone on Friday.

(My call on President Joe Biden to stop another Armenian genocide. It is time for America (and the world) to take action to protect the Armenians of Azerbaijan.)

According to Kardashian and Esrailian, the government of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev used “starvation as a weapon against the Armenian population” by blockading Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Regional peace should not involve sacrificing the sovereignty of Artsakh Armenians, but whatever one thinks of our opinion, it is clear that this merciless blockade has crossed all human rights red lines and humanitarian law,” the letter reads.

The two figures urged the Biden administration to implement economic sanctions, reduce foreign aid, boycott international events and initiate proceedings before the International Criminal Court against the country and its representatives.

This is not the first time that Kim Kardashian has questioned the White House about Armenia.

In 2015, she tried to get the Obama administration to recognize the 1915 genocide, which Biden ultimately did.

In 2020, she pushed for a diplomatic response from the Trump administration to Azerbaijan’s invasion of Nagorno-Karabakh.
