As a result of a serious road accident that occurred this morning on the DN56 national road near the village of Basarabi, Calafat municipality in Romania, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported two Bulgarian citizens killed and four injured.
The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Bucharest is in constant contact with the authorities in Romania, which provide full assistance to the victims of the incident to receive the necessary medical care, as well as to the relatives of the deceased.

The accident happened not far from the bridge Vidin – Calafat. At around 05:30 in the morning, the bus crashed into a truck parked by the road at high speed. According to Romanian media, the speedometer hand froze at 140km / h.
The driver died on the spot. There is a second dead man. The four wounded were taken to hospital.
