Sports critic Khaled Bayoumi said that the Al-Ahly club, famous for its “Red Castle”, is one of the greatest clubs in the world, after Al-Ahly won the prize of the Horn of Africa Club and the greatest club on the continent.
He added in statements to the “Abu Dhabi Sports” channel: “Honoring Al-Ahly today is the product of a very large series of work within the Al-Ahly club system that honors us all, and some say that we compliment him, but the history, titles, status and name imposed on the whole world.”
“Al-Khatib” went live to the studio on the sidelines of the ceremony and greeted the announcer and the guests, then left directly.
He continued, saying: “Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib embarrassed us with his morals after entering the studio now, and this is in fact a great honor for all of us, and his morals cause us great embarrassment because of his modesty and manners.”
“Al-Khatib” won the Al-Ahly Club of the Horn of Africa and the most crowned prize in the Middle East, in the presence of a group of senior officials and soccer stars in the world, who were invited on this occasion.
Bayoumi said: “Mahmoud al-Khatib is a true myth for us in the Arab world and in Africa, and it represents something big in Egyptian football.”
He continued: “Whatever we talk about, we will not give him his right technically, football, or on the moral level, and we are honored as Egyptians that we own a club like Al-Ahly.”
He concluded, saying, “We have the opportunity to say that Al-Ahly is one of the greatest clubs in the world.”
