Kenyan woman celebrates 28 years of living with HIV (photos)


Doreen Moraa Moracha, a young woman who has been living with HIV since 1992, celebrates 28 years of living with the virus. Born with AIDS, the Kenyan lives this situation with positivity.

Doreen Moraa Moracha is an example of survival in the face of HIV AIDS. The young woman, a little less than thirty, is doing quite well. It is through publications on her Facebook page that she announced that she has just celebrated her 28 years of life with the virus.

“Living with HIV since 1992 (the year I was born), I have been taking ARVs since 2005. Formally tested and diagnosed on my 8th birthday, 20 years ago, I am taller than HIV. I am a beautiful story ”, can we read on his Facebook page.

A situation that she lives with a lot of positivity because according to her, she is bigger than AIDS: ”28 years ago, the Moracha family were lucky enough to have a baby girl; her name, Doreen Moraa Moracha. 8 years later, she was diagnosed with HIV. There was no ARV and no hope that she would live until her 28th birthday today. I celebrate life because I am taller than HIV and the fabulous hostess of a little guest. Happy Birthday to me”,she said in another post.

In 2019, she confided in an interview that few people believe in her situation.
