US presidential candidate Joe Biden has hit the family of African-American Jacob Blake, who was seriously injured by police gunfire in the city of Kenosha. Biden spoke to Blake’s father and three of his siblings at Milwaukee Airport on Thursday, the US Democrat’s campaign team announced. The meeting took place in camera.
The former vice president had flown to Milwaukee with his wife Jill. From there he will travel to nearby Kenosha.
A white policeman seriously injured Blake seven times in the back in a city, Wisconsin, on August 23. The renewed case of police violence against African Americans sparked demonstrations, some of which degenerated into violence. Last week, two people were shot on the sidelines of the protests and a 17-year-old white man was arrested as a suspect.
