The two crowdfunding campaigns together amounted to just over 32,000 euros. “Quite overwhelming,” Kenny says. “We are very grateful for all the generosity. We are in good contact with the initiators and receive a portion of the proceeds into our account every month.” But just like Harry and Jerina, the couple ultimately decided not to make an offer on the house they were completely renovating in Laakdal.

”With regret in the heart, but the asking price is much too high. That’s sour, yes. But we also don’t want to focus on the negative. The search for a new home continues, although we feel more and more inclined to start building ourselves. Over the past few weeks we have visited five properties, but there was always something we could not reconcile with.”
That is why Kenny and Amber are carefully looking for suitable land in Laakdal. “Or, by extension, Tessenderlo. It is not a simple quest, but the desire to build a house from the first to the last brick ourselves and to furnish it completely to our own taste is growing all the time.”
