According to the Reuters news agency, the US federal administration executed Keith Nelson on Friday. This is the fifth federal convict to be executed since the resumption of this practice, after a 17-year hiatus, despite a court ruling that lethal injections are not in accordance with US law.
Keith Nelson was convicted of the rape and murder of a 10-year-old child in 1999.
He died this Friday at 4:32 p.m., at the age of 45 in Indiana. He received a lethal dose of pentobarbital, a product commonly used in anesthesia.
Donald Trump’s administration has now authorized more executions than all previous administrations in the past 57 years.
