Farewell from Northern Hesse: Kaufungen’s trainer Jonas Spengler will look after the Bundesliga women of SC Freiburg as assistant coach.

New contract for 25-year-old soccer coaches in the women’s Bundesliga
–The long-awaited news has finally arrived: From July 1st, 25-year-old Jonas Spengler will become assistant coach for SC Freiburg. Another step on the career ladder of the young trainer.
Breisgauer and Spengler had been in discussion since the beginning of the year, and everything got a little stuck due to the Corona crisis. Nobody really knew what was going to happen to football. There is now clarity, because the women’s Bundesliga has been back in the game since the weekend.
Contact with the SCF came about last year in Leipzig when Spengler made friends with the Bundesliga club’s U-17 coach on the DFB course for the youth elite license.
“It was always my goal to go into paid football. It is overwhelming for me that it has already worked, ”says Spengler. Suddenly football is no longer just the most beautiful thing in the world, but is becoming a profession for the student of sports science. He will move into an apartment in Breisgau before he starts work.
Spengler, who discovered playing football in Bergshausen at the age of four, went through all the youth teams at KSV Hessen and stayed there in his first senior year before moving to the Hessen league team FSC Lohfelden. After only one year he moved on to KSV Baunatal. Due to increasing injuries, he left the football shoes at the age of 22 – at least for the time being.
Now his home club became his first coaching station. In the 2017/18 season, he became champion of the Kreisliga A with the FSV Bergs- hausen and rose to the Kreisoberliga. In the following season, he established the club in the league, laying the foundation for the success that the team celebrated this year with promotion to the group league.
At the same time, he has been training the regional junior selection for the Kassel area since June 2017. He was also responsible for the 2002 youth group at the association level. In the current season, Spengler then took over the coaching position at the soccer division SV SV Kaufungen.
“I would particularly like to thank those in charge of my last two clubs and my teammates for understanding what was being offered to me. But especially my players, who made it easy for me to work together, ”says the banker.
And now the Bundesliga: With a two-year contract, Jonas Spengler is now at the side of FC women’s chief coach Daniel Kraus in the upcoming Bundesliga season.
