Kassel Huskies and EC Bad Nauheim celebrate clear away wins

Reading time: approx. 2 minutes

While the EHC Freiburg in Kaufbeuren lost out, the Tölzer Löwen underlined their ambitions in the fight for second place in the DEL2 with a clear home win against Crimmitschau. Just as clearly the Hessian representatives from Kassel and Bad Nauheim retained the upper hand abroad. Frankfurt, Bietigheim and Heilbronn made it more exciting and each won their games 3-2 – the lions even needed extra time for that.

The games at a glance:

ESV Kaufbeuren – EHC Freiburg 4: 1 (1: 1, 3: 0, 0: 0)

Both teams scored extremely hard recently. A balanced first third was recognizable as such on the scoreboard after goals from John Lammers (17th) and Scott Allen (18th). But then the Jokers turned up: Overpaid goals by Daniel Oppolzer (30th) and Tobias Wörle (33rd) as well as a hit by Tyler Spurgeon (39th) ensured the Joker lead 4-1 at the second break. The wolves from the Breisgau had nothing to counter this in the final section, so it remained the wild card in the home win.

Bietigheim Steelers – Lausitzer Füchse 3: 2 (0: 0, 2: 2, 1: 0)

For the local Ellentaler there were three bankruptcies in a row. After a goalless first third, the Steelers started well in the middle section. After goals from Evan Jasper (21st) and Riley Sheen (24th), a 2-0 lead was recorded. The Füchse managed to hit the next goal straight away in the person of Nicholas Ross (25th) and shortly before the second siren even equalized by Lars Reuss (40th). It wasn’t enough for the Weißwasseraner for points – Riley Sheen (57th) secured the home win for Bietigheim with his second goal of the evening.

Dresdner Eislöwen – Kassel Huskies 1: 6 (0: 1, 0: 4, 1: 1)

The undisputed front runner also got off to a good start in Dresden and was already 5 after 40 minutes thanks to goals from Dustin Reich (28th), Ryan Olsen (29th) and a three-pack from Lois Spitzner (20th, 37th, 40th): 0 in front. Corey Trivino (44th) went one better in the final section, before the ice lions in the person of Matej Mrazek (49th) at least scored a consolation goal – 1: 6 at the end.

Ravensburg Towerstars – Löwen Frankfurt 2: 3 (2: 0, 0: 2, 0: 0/0: 1) nV

The Towerstars could celebrate only one victory in the last eight encounters. In the first part of the game, however, the people from the Puzzle City were decisive – Paul Dronia (3rd) and Patrick Seifert (12th) took the lead. In the middle third, the opposite picture emerged, Frankfurt now better. Kyle Wood (21st) and Kale Kerbashian (27th) brought this fact to the game report – 2-2. The final section was balanced and goalless. In the following overtime, Maximilian Faber (63rd) struck and ensured the away win of the Lions from Main.

Tölzer Löwen – Eispiraten Crimmitschau 6: 1 (3: 0, 1: 0, 2: 1)

The Oberbayern’s successful streak recently suffered a minor setback in Weißwasser. The ice pirates had to pay for that on Saturday evening. Marco Pfleger (6th), Reid Gardiner (13th), Max French (16th), Kenney Morrison (40th) and again Marco Pfleger (48th) shot out a 5-0 lead for the home side before Crimmitschau through Willy Rudert (48th) finally got his foot in the door. However, this was nothing more than the famous cosmetic result. Lubor Dibelka (60th) marked the 6-1 final score in the final minute.

EV Landshut – EC Bad Nauheim 1:8 (1:1, 0:2, 0:5)

The Red Devils got a little more momentum recently – three wins from the last four games. This trend continued in Landshut. First, Marcus Power (19th) was able to equalize the Hessian lead achieved by Christoph Körner (6th). In the middle section, Bad Nauheim began to outrun Niederbayern with hits from James Arniel (26th) and Kelsey Tessier (30th), before it became very clear in the last 20 minutes: Christoph Körner (44th), Tomas Schmidt (46th) .), Cason Hohmann (49th), James Arniel (50th) and Stefan Reiter (55th) made the final score – 1: 8

Bayreuth Tigers – Heilbronner Falken 2: 3 (1: 1, 1: 0, 0: 2)

Only one point separated the two teams in advance, and the game was correspondingly close. Markus Lillich (18th) was able to equalize the Falken lead by Dylan Wruck (17th) a little later, before Kurt Davis (28th) even brought the Tigers into the lead. In the final phase, however, the guests struck back mercilessly. Thanks to two late goals from Marcus Götz (58th) and Stefan Della Rovere (60th), the Falcons went off the ice as winners and kidnapped three points from Bayreuth.
