Karystianou: Wherever they hid or threw evidence, we will find it for a proper trial – 2024-04-21 10:50:23

“We hope that the punishment will come very quickly, so that we can breathe a little easier,” said, among other things, the president of the Association of Victims of Tempo and mother of 20-year-old Martha, who was killed in the accident in Tempi, Maria Karystianouat an event held in Volos, about the railway tragedy.

“We are here to speak as representatives of the Tempe Victims Association for our children, our dead children. And it is very difficult for us after the recent events with the discovery of bones in a place unrelated to the accident”, Maria Karystianou said upon her arrival at the TEE Magnisias building in Volos, who, as reported by the Postman, she drowned in the arms of the people, who gathered to give her a few words of comfort and support.

“On February 28, 2023, the lives of all of us changed. In a different way for everyone. Society will never be the same again, and neither will power, in terms of its public image. A horrible crime becomes the reason to reveal the whole corrupt reality, the result of chronic state sloppiness and impunity. Experts characterize it as pathogenic. The real culprits and those responsible call it a chronic pathology,” said Ms. Kauristianou, according to Magnesia-news.

Arrogance

“Then they wash their hands and continue their normalcy, maintaining this criminal pathogenicity, demonstrating that the matter does not concern them. As if it is not their duty to treat and solve the problems that plague society. They are not even touched by these views. And lies. Unfathomable, shameless lies, full of irony and arrogance. The arrogance of the certainty that I am superior to everyone else and no one can shake me from the position I was born with. They try to convince us of the opposite of what we experience. But is it possible? Have we learned not to believe our eyes and ears? Are we used to abuse? Did we believe that we don’t deserve anything good and that this is how our lives will always be? Unsure? Is this what they consider normal? They respond to us with ridiculous cynicism and insolence, bypassing the incident,” he continued.

“As parents, together with society, we seek the final cure of the pathologies, the therapeutic return of the rule of law through the exemplary punishment of the guilty, the corrupt, the permanently well-wishers at the expense of all of us. As a mother who lived through absolute evil, I got fed up, tired and angry because countless times, all this time I was faced with the obstacle of “nothing changes” and “unfortunately, we live in Greece”, she added.

“If no one cares about us, we will. Dignity is not a party issue, it is a human right, which we demand to be restored immediately. We will shout about it. Our rage will be transformed into strength. We are not like them. We are not motivated by expediency. We long to get out of the muck and breathe freely. Let’s miss our children, we love them more even when we had them in our arms. Back then, when they were still sleeping in their beds, safe, full of dreams and hope. Our beloved children, I wish we knew beforehand how much our heart grows to reach you”, he concluded.

It is noted that Mrs. Karystianou, while commenting on the prosecution of the former District Governor Kostas Agorastos, said that the misdemeanor charge is infuriating, while she described the first decision to file the parents’ lawsuit as a shame for the judiciary.

“At the moment we are not interested in a quick trial. We are interested in a proper investigative process and to have as much evidence as possible. Evidence, that wherever they hid it, wherever they threw it, we will find it so that a proper trial can take place”, he stated.
