Kanye West and Jay-Z reunite on the long overdue “Donda” album

MUSIC – The wait begins to annoy more than one. American singer Kanye West presented his new album “Donda”, which is still not available, during an event broadcast live, this Thursday, July 22, on Apple Music. As a surprise: a song in collaboration with rapper Jay-Z.

Even though the album, due for release on July 23, has yet to arrive, Kanye West set the mood in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz stadium which was packed with fans. Thanks to a “listening party”, in which his album was released in full, fans of American rap were surprised to hear the voice of Jay-Z, which appears on the track “Heaven and Hell”. “Told him to stop all that red cap, we going home”, Sings Beyoncé’s husband. You can listen to an excerpt in the tweet below:

The return of the “Throne”?

This is not the first time that the two legends of American rap have teamed up for a title. In 2016, they teamed up with Drake for the track called “Pop Style”. But the culmination will have been the year 2011 with the release of “Watch the Throne”, a joint album which had the merit of obtaining a Grammy Award. In this new song, which will be available on the album “Donda”, Jay-Z also gives hope for a possible return of the “Throne”, in reference to their former collaboration.

The featuring did not leave the fans indifferent either, whether in France or internationally. “On the other hand feat with Jay-Z when I’m shocked”, “Jay-Z is the greatest rapper in history”, I was almost sleeping and bim Jay-Z appeared ”, could we read on Twitter at the end of the event.

Despite surprises in the chain, with the appearance of Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Pusha T or Travis Scott on his new album, Kanye West has not kept all his promises. Indeed, the album “Donda” is still not available for sale, nor on streaming platforms, although it was due out on July 23 at 6 am (French time).

A delay that puts the fans in all their states: “Kanye West, where is your album?” Asks a user. “I wake up early this morning to go to Spotify and finally see that ‘Donda’ hasn’t been released,” says another. It remains to be seen whether the wait is voluntary, because with Kanye West nothing is completely predictable.
