Kansas City Victory Parade Shooting: 2 Arrested, 1 Dead, 14 Injured – Latest Updates

The shooting happened at a train station on the outskirts of the victory parade in Kansas City. Two gunmen have been arrested, the police state at X.

According to Kansas City Fire Department spokesman Michael Hopkins, one person has died and at least 14 others have been injured, reports ABC News.

Five people have been taken to the University Health hospital in Kansas City, of which three are being treated for gunshot wounds, writes CNN. The children’s hospital is said to have also received several patients, according to the hospital’s spokesperson Lisa Augustine.

Three of the injured are in critical condition, five are seriously injured and one person has non-life-threatening injuries, the fire brigade says.

Another five people are said to have sought medical attention for injuries from the incident. It is unclear if it is a case of gunshot wounds.

The world stars express their grief

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is expressing his grief on social media after the tragic turn in the celebration.

“I pray for Kansas City,” writes the world star in a post on X.

Linebacker Drue Tranquill also speaks out.

“Pray with me for all the victims of this terrible act. Pray that the doctors will be sharp and that everyone will be fine.”
