Kangaroo arrested by Florida police officers

Marsupial Jack hops through Fort Lauderdale (USA)

Paws up and stopped: On the south coast of Florida, the police arrested a rather unusual suspect. Watch a video of a kangaroo named Jack jumping through the streets of Fort Lauderdale, USA.

Officials surrounded the “suspect”

After the police officers received an emergency call on Thursday, they rushed to the site and made an animal discovery: the plucked kangaroo was in the middle of the street.

“We were able to surround him and when we were close to him he was very friendly. We could then put a rope around his neck and put him in the car,” said police officer Robert Norvis of NBC Miami.

The kangaroo will not be returned to the owner

The marsupial appeared peaceful and cooperative during the arrest and was finally taken into custody – translated from the policeman’s language, this means that animal rights activists are taking care of him.

The owner of the escaped kangaroo told the daily Sun Sentinel that he wanted to bring the animal home after the incident, but the police did not want to return Jack because kangaroos were not allowed in the city. How the kangaroo was able to do anything is not yet clear.
