Juventus: fans demand the resignation of Allegri and the return of Conte

At Allianz Stadium in Turi, Juventus Turin were held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna. The Juventus team was dominated by their opponent for the duration of the match.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was disappointed his side could only achieve a 1-1 draw against Bologna on Matchday 33 of the 2021-22 Italian League. Nevertheless, Allegri tried to take the positive side, where Juventus avoided defeat and took home a point. After that point, fans turned on the coach, including some really big names.

Lapo Elkann, the cousin of Juve president Andrea Agnelli and one of the heirs to the family fortune, expressed his displeasure on Twitter: “We are not very happy…Allegri.”

Inevitably, the #AllegriOut hashtag has come back into fashion for the manager who returned this season after a previous run of five straight Serie A titles.

Some fans joked that Allegri “is a magician, because he manages to make football disappear from the pitch every time Juventus play”.

The change saw several Bianconeri supporters calling for the return of Conte, who had started the record run of Juventus Scudetto success in 2011. He left for one day in pre-season training for the 2014-15 campaign, then represented Italy, Chelsea, Inter and now Tottenham.

“Who do we need if not Antonio Conte, who created the team of the decade? Who took advantage of virtually unknown players? #AllegriOut forever,” @Rigel977 wrote.
