Juve: the decision on (and of) Ronaldo. Inter: Conte’s unexpected choice. Milan: Donnarumma risks becoming a problem

Here we are. We have a problem with vaccines, if only because we don’t know their names: Astra Zenka, Astra Zeniga, Astra Zenechia, Astra Zenaca. Yesterday, on Twitter, only “Astronzo” was missing. But frankly there is little to joke about and we close it here, also because we are part of the sixty million virologists only when there is no football and, at least for the moment, football is there.

Inter won. Against Torino. We are 8 successes in a row. And everyone exclaims: “The Scudetto is done!”. Many say it to cast the curse, the evil eye, the gufata. It is the party game, after all. The Nerazzurri didn’t play a great match the other day, it must be said. Against Atalanta yes, at least for the writer, definitely not against the grenade. There is, you can’t always be perfect. The fact, however, is that most of the external observers have never questioned the success of Handanovic and his brothers, this is because for some time now, this team has appeared reliable, concrete, aware, mentally ” ready “.
Oh, thanks to those who drive it, no doubt about it. And we are talking about Conte. Thanks to his skills on the bench, of course, but also to a couple of “courageous” choices. Conte has shown that he is not as stubborn and uncompromising as he seems, he “hugged” a couple of players who were definitely not for him (Eriksen and Perisic), he involved them in the project and they were very good at being patient. Now Inter’s formation has a 360-degree sense, you know it by heart and this, since football has existed, is a great sign.

Milan lost to Napoli and, obviously, the usual flurry of discontent started. We will not stay here to tell the usual things (the Rossoneri are going beyond the rosiest expectations, criticizing them makes very little sense), we prefer to talk about Donnarumma.
Even my aunt knows that Donnarumma is one of the strongest goalkeepers in the world; that Donnarumma is currently owned by his agent, Mino Raiola, is a fact. Football sooner or later will have to solve this kind of (shameful) problems but, for now, this is the situation.
Contract issue: the club offers the boy a salary of 8 million per season including bonuses, Donnarumma, while wanting to continue with the Rossoneri, refers every decision to his agent who, however, does not move from much higher figures (over 10 million). The further problem concerns the commissions: a dozen million that Milan would be willing to recognize only in the presence of a long-term contract, certainly not for a two-year contract (Raiola hypothesis). In short, the situation is complicated and can be unlocked only and only by one person: the person concerned.

And then there is Ronaldo. We will not waste time writing that the Juve striker is very strong, nor will we question such a champion for a couple of wrong games (however important). His numbers? Impressive, and you don’t even need to explain why.
But the question is another. What should Juventus do with such a player, in this precise historical moment? He should do without it. We repeat, it is not and will never be a question of the pitch (Ronaldo is very strong!), But of accounts to balance and pandemic troubles.
Ronaldo and his 80 million a year of costs – between gross salary and amortization – are a very unsustainable figure, especially for a 36-year-old, however capable and “resistant”.
Juve must have the courage to start from a different squad, less dependent on the mood of a single champion and more capable of managing European challenges, which – among other things – they always did in the “pre-Ronaldo”. To do so, he obviously has to go through much more suitable markets than the recent ones. The current midfield of the bianconeri is by no means composed of poor players, but not even of first-tier pedestrians, those who instead abounded until a couple of seasons ago. Juve must start from a lower salary and, above all, from the insights they have always had. To do so, he must hope that Ronaldo changes air: at first it will seem like a defeat, in the long run it will become a salvation.

(Oh, as always it’s about opinions, don’t take them too seriously).

And a good week to everyone, except for those of the famous island: you have to lose a lot of weight, after all you have been looking for it.
