Justice. Police officers dismissed after violent racist remarks made in private

Rouen police officers, accused of having made racist remarks in a WhatsApp discussion group, were dismissed from the police, according to the General Directorate of the National Police (DGPN).

Appeals filed

Three peacekeepers were dismissed on September 11 by the DGPN, after a disciplinary council held in June and unanimously called for their dismissal.

The revocation was “notified to them on September 17 and has been effective since September 18,” said the DGPN, confirming information from local news sites Octopus and Actu76.

A student peacekeeper was also expelled on September 11. Finally, the contract of a security assistant (ADS), also implicated, was terminated, added the DGPN.

Among the grievances held against them is the “breach of the duty of exemplarity by behavior unworthy of the functions”, said the DGPN.

Several of them will challenge these decisions, according to Actu76.

“You wanted the color, you have to pay the royalty”

The case started with the filing of a complaint in December 2019 of a black police officer, assigned to the Administrative and Legal Assistance Unit, against six of his colleagues in Rouen after discovering that he was the target of racist remarks. from them in messages exchanged on the WhatsApp application.

A preliminary investigation was also opened, and the IGPN (General Inspectorate of the National Police) seized “of various offenses, in particular aggravated non-public defamation and non-public incitement to discrimination”.

Early June, Arte Radio and Mediapart had broadcast the words of these police officers, giving echo to this affair. A black policeman testified there and shared some of these tapes.

We hear for example, among other scandalous remarks: “They take the negro … too bad for them. There are 140 feminicides, too bad guys.” Or “I wait for one thing is that all these people die. I no longer want to save people. I tell myself that all these people must die, that will regenerate the human species, and especially the white race. When chicks offer themselves to niggers, bougnoules, I don’t give a fuck about them if after they get their mouths taken apart, knocked out … You wanted color, now you have to that you pay the royalty. “

Many cases of racism in the police have, in recent months, punctuated the institution. The George Floyd affair in the United States, in particular, gave them a powerful echo around the world.
