FIFPro has condemned TIRA Persikabo’s stance in their conflict with Brazilian player Alex Goncalves over a pay cut.
The case between the 31-year-old striker and his former club even went worldwide after received special attention from the president of Brazil, Jair Messias Bolsonaro.
The dispute began with TIRA Persikabo’s decision to cut the player’s salary by 75 percent, under the pretext that it was in accordance with the provisions set by PSSI for Liga 1 2020 which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the problem is, Alex claimed that he was not informed in advance about the decision, refused to accept it and had time to express his feelings through social media sites some time ago before then taking the matter to the FIFA dispute body.
This case also reached the table of FIFPro, as the worldwide representative organization for 65,000 professional football players, who then spoke on behalf of Alex’s fate.
