Jreng! Suddenly Donald Trump was warned by King Salman

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President of the United States (US) Donald Trump recently received a ‘reprimand’ from the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz. It warns Trump about Palestinian independence.

As is well known, Trump is still working on peace between Arab countries and Israel. But by telephone, King Salman told Trump Arab that it would not normalize relations with Israel if the proposed solution was unfair.

Arabs will only normalize relations with Israel as long as there is an agreement for a Palestinian state. This is in accordance with the royal proposal in 2002.

“Israel must also fully withdraw troops from the territories seized since the 1967 Middle East war,” he told Reuters on Monday (6/9/2020).

Trump’s insistence emerged because of the move by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to open relations with Israel. The two countries are now cooperating in diplomatic and aviation relations.

Earlier, White House Advisor Jared Kushner, who is also Trump’s son-in-law, has directly accompanied the Israeli delegation to the UAE to discuss normalizing UAE-Israel relations in Abu Dhabi.

He then continued touring countries in the other Gulf region starting Tuesday, with the aim of “attracting” more countries to follow in the UAE’s footsteps, although the move has drawn much criticism.

As is well known, Israel and Palestine are “eternal enemies”, because both parties have been involved in war since thousands of years ago. The essence of the debate between the two countries is the struggle for territory.

According to Kiro 7, at first the dispute occurred when the Palestinian territories, which are located along the Mediterranean coast, were occupied by Israel. This country was created from an agreement between groups of nations after the Second World War.

However, since its inception, Israel and the United Nations (UN) which formed it, immediately came under fire from Arabs in the Middle East. They also recognize Israeli-occupied areas around the holy city of Jerusalem as their own.

Since then, relations between Israel and Palestine supported by the Arab state have continued to deteriorate. The two sides continued to be involved in strife and war, costing lives and destroying the economy.

In March 2002, the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit level formed an agreement in Beirut. The agreement contains about Israel’s peace plan with Palestine.

According to The Guardian, one of the points of the deal was to reaffirm a resolution adopted in June 1996 at the extraordinary Arab summit in Cairo.

That a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East is a strategic choice for Arab states, which will be achieved in accordance with international legality, and which will require commitment on the part of the Israeli government.

In addition, the agreement also addresses Israel’s full withdrawal from all Arab territories occupied since June 1967.

This includes Israel’s acceptance of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in exchange for establishing normal relations in the context of comprehensive peace with Israel.
