The collection presented on this occasion is made up of the works “Testimonies so as not to forget”, a 220-page material that includes interviews with victims and relatives of victims of the recent dictatorship in our country, 26 years after the military coup that overthrew the dictator Stroessner.
The book can constitute a source of consultation for those young people who did not live or no longer remember the time that our country repression was institutionalized, physical and mental torture were methods applied to those who defied the regime, and cruel and degrading penalties were applied without compliance with the basic guarantees of human rights, recalls the author.
Another title is “Aquel tajy amarillo”, a novel inspired by fundamental values that elevate the meaning of human life, such as love of neighbor, solidarity, patriotism, faith, respect for human dignity and unity family in an environment marked by the horrors suffered in prisons by victims of the stronista dictatorship; and a third title, “El quebrachal humeante”, a storybook that collects stories of ancient myths and legends of the Guaraní cosmogony.
We will be there for the whole week and possibly during the first week of January, thanks to this family business that kindly offered its place where the exhibition and sale of books is held, in meetings with people who want to know more about books or its author noted.
For a matter of avoiding crowding of people due to the pandemic, the author decided to install her sample and receive those interested in a private business located on Mariscal Estigarribia street between Jorge Memmel and Gral. Cabañas. The place is a jewelry store, “Duarte Jewelry”, located near the Bus Terminal of the city.
