Journalist Magdy El-Gallad, editor-in-chief of the ONA Press and Media Group, which includes the websites (Masrawy – Yalla Koura – Al-Consulto – Shift), criticized the waves of attacks on Egyptian-Saudi relations.
Al-Jallad said in a new episode of his program, “We Must Understand,” on his official Facebook page, that in October 2016, I wrote an article entitled “Shame… God Almighty,” directed to everyone who fishes in the murky waters between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Although the article sparked many, many reactions, some did not learn the lesson.
Al-Jallad added: “The lesson I would like to talk to you about today is a lesson for the fools and fools who are trying to spoil Egyptian-Saudi relations in any way.”
He continued: Last Sunday, Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the General Entertainment Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arrived in Egypt on a surprise visit, and this visit was preceded by a campaign that seemed to be systematic at this particular time, to spoil any rapprochement between the two countries.
Al-Jallad continued: In 2016, there was a difference in viewpoints between Egypt and the Kingdom, and this is a natural thing between brothers, and on that day, Egyptian pens attacked Saudi Arabia and Saudi pens attacked Egypt, making the word “shame” a small statement on the situation, but it seems that the fools do not learn, because after 8 years We witnessed similar campaigns, and campaigns to “drive wedges” between Egypt and the Kingdom.
Al-Gallad praised the artistic, cultural and sports agreements that Al-Sheikh concluded with Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Egyptian Minister of Culture, noting that accompanying Amr Al-Feki, CEO and Managing Director of the United Media Services Company, was of important significance, stressing that the visit will be the beginning of repairing a relationship that had been… A list between Egypt and Saudi Arabia may have been subject to some differences in views.
He pointed out that the Minister of Culture announced the holding of concerts, the exchange of theatrical performances, joint artistic works, and many artistic events, shortly after some criticized the honoring of the great artist Najat Al-Saghira in Saudi Arabia, and some trumpets came out saying, “How do they honor her there?” And we said that honoring any Egyptian artist Abroad, as well as Egyptian concerts abroad, in addition to Egypt, and expresses love for Egyptian creativity.
Al-Jallad expressed his astonishment at dealing with great artists such as “Government Horses,” stressing that the great star George Wassouf was also honored in Saudi Arabia, and he was old and was leaning on stage, and no one criticized him.
