“Journalism has moved away from its initial vocation” The economic and political newsletter of the PACA

It consisted of reporting facts of an objective nature.

It had to give a voice to the actors of political, public, civil and scientific life, without taking a position. Its purpose was to report and “report” verified and balanced information. He had to enlighten his readers and listeners about the causes, circumstances, consequences and problems.

Each could then use their own discernment and judgment to form an independent opinion.

But none of this. This ideal is swept away by the reality of the media.

The press has become fundamentally biased and “hasty”. It “faces” with the news of his choice and immediately navigates from ideological prejudices. You have forgotten the contextualization, the pedagogy and the long time. She plays her audience with the fuel of emotion. She selects the ones she wants to talk about and removes from his ghost those she thinks are outside the well-meaning and politically correct arc.

You can have the right of access to journalists and sets as you can be excluded.

The reporters took on the jacket of the media prosecutors. They “judge” rather than “relays” as a drive and timing belt. They directly produce the opinion of fragile, ignorant and lost minds. They lock them up in a register of agreed ideas. They also choose their own political champions, sometimes running the risk of losing bets. We recall DSK who in 2011 was in court with all the French media before the “fall” in a luxury hotel. We also remember Alain Juppé in 2016, the man of “happy globalization”, who was in favor of all Parisian journalists in contact with power, before his political collapse and then his appointment to the Constitutional Council.

Let’s not forget the great intellectual, moral and even romantic porosity between politicians and journalists. How many marriages, small agreements and divorces?

The complicity between journalists and women and men of power is not just a legend. It is a daily reality.

“Subsidized” journalism, instead of remaining in its duties, has put itself at the service of defending political causes and above all of the progressive ideal. Our journalists are trained in all journalism schools.

There are, of course, just causes that merit “stirring the knife into the wound”. There is also always this imperative need to seek truth in the “fog of things and war”. But by “deceiving” the eye of its public, and sacrificing its independence at the expense of objectivity, the journalism of our time has lost grandeur, nobility and credibility.

The French therefore have only very limited trust in the media. They doubt their sincerity more and more. And they are right. “
