Diogo Jota Joined recently Liverpool, but it can be directly entered into an exclusive list that only contains a handful of names thanks to the special achievements in Champions League.
Jota was recruited by Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers in early September, with a transfer value that is said to have reached the range of 41 million pounds.
He made his Premier League Cup debut against Lincoln City on 24 September. Diogo Jota played 33 minutes of Liverpool’s 7-2 win.
Diogo Jota then marked his debut for Liverpool in the Premier League in the second match, against Arsenal. He marked it by scoring goals.
Lately, the 23-year-old winger from Portugal’s fertility has also increased. Diogo Jota has regularly scored goals in his last four matches with Liverpool, including a hat-trick against Atalanta.
With the hat-trick against Atalanta, in the 5-0 win for Liverpool, Diogo Jota enter a special list of players Liverpool who can score a hat-trick in a party Champions League in the main draw, in the format of his current name (since 1992).
Referring to the BBC, GiveMeSport and LFCHistory.net records, even before Diogo Jota there were only four players who could do it. Here are the four players:
1. Michael Owen became Liverpool’s first player with a hat-trick in the Champions League main draw, when he scored in a 3-1 win against Spartak Moscow on October 22, 2002. He had another hat-trick the year before, but it happened in the qualifying phase.
2. Yossi Benayoun registered himself as the second Liverpool player who was able to make a hat-trick for Liverpool in the Champions League party. He did so against Besiktas on 6 November 2008, in an 8–0 win.
3. Philippe Coutinho’s name is the fourth. He scored a hat-trick for Liverpool in the Champions League in a 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow on November 6, 2017.
4. Sadio Mane becomes the fourth player with a hat-trick for Liverpool in the main round of the Champions League, through his action against FC Porto in a 5-0 win on 14 February 2018.
Apart from the four names, of course a plus Diogo Jota Currently, Steven Gerrard is also noted to have a hat-trick for him Liverpool at the event Champions League in a match against TNS in 2005. But it happened in the qualifying phase.
