Josef “Pepi” Ferstl had his greatest triumph in 2019: In Kitzbühel he became the first German to win the Super G race on the infamous Streif. With this, he celebrated his second World Cup victory, after winning the Super-G in Val Gardena in 2017. Things didn’t go so well for the Traunsteiner this season. But in the last Super-G – also on the Streif – his form curve showed up again. Ferstl landed in 13th place. “That was a solid, good trip, that was the right direction,” said the 32-year-old after the competition.
The last big test before the World Ski Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy (February 8-21) is the home races in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on February 5th and 6th. Tonight, Ferstl is a guest in the BR24 Instagram Talk and answers questions from BR24 sports presenter Julia Büchler.
