Madrid, May 18 (EFE).- The former president of Renault Spain and president of Ifema Madrid, José Vicente de los Mozos, has been elected CEO of Indra to replace Ignacio Mataix, in which an independent director, former director of Rolls Royce , Axwl Arendt, has announced his resignation “with immediate effect”.
As reported by the technology company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the former president of Renault Spain has been supported by the Board of Directors that was held this Thursday in Indra, in which Mataix has resigned as director ” as a consequence of the termination of his contract for the provision of executive services”.
Mataix will remain at Indra for two years as a strategic advisor to the Board of Directors, while the appointment of the former president of Renault Spain must be ratified by the Indra shareholders’ meeting on June 30, as reported by the company in a subsequent press release. to the relevant fact.
José Vicente de los Mozos has been elected after a succession process for Mataix that began last March, when the latter’s departure was announced and it was explained that the appointment of the new CEO would be linked to the definition of the company’s strategic plan company.

The Board has taken note of the resignation presented at the same meeting by the independent director Axel Arendt, a former director of Rolls-Royce, a company that sold ITP Aero to the American fund Bain Capital a few months ago and on which there is speculation about the possibility of that Indra enters the shareholding.
Arendt was one of the seven directors (six independent) who were elected last October after a process that was opened after half of the council was relieved. The reason for his resignation has not been disclosed.
These seven appointments occurred in Indra last October after the shareholders’ meeting in June 2022, when at the proposal of Prisa’s president, Joseph Oughourlian, owner of Amber Capital (Indra’s shareholder), several directors left the technology company.
Ignacio Mataix, whom de los Mozos replaces, is one of the two co-CEOs who were elected in Indra in May 2021, when the previous president of Indra, Fernando Abril-Martorel, was relieved.
Abril-Martorel, who had executive functions, was relieved by Marc Murtra at the proposal of Sepi (the State Company for Industrial Participations) -who was appointed president, which he is currently, but without executive functions-.
Along with Mataix, Cristina Ruiz, whose departure from the company was announced in March of last year, was appointed as co-director.

José Vicente de los Mozos (Sao Paolo, 1962), who was also president of the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers), has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, has a Master’s Degree in Production Techniques, from CESEM in Madrid and an Executive Program from Stanford University (SEP).
In 1988, he joined the Renault Spain engineering team and in 2002, he moved to Nissan Motor Ibérica, in Barcelona, as deputy to the Industrial Director, to later be appointed director of Nissan Motor in 2005 and later vice-president.
In 2009, he returned to Renault as Director of Group Vehicle Manufacturing and subsequently Director of Manufacturing and Logistics in Europe. In 2018, José Vicente de los Mozos was appointed General Director of Manufacturing and Logistics of the Renault Group worldwide.
He is the holder of numerous awards and recognitions, among which stands out, an Honoris Causa Doctorate from the University of Valladolid.
De los Mozos received the Grand Cross of the Order of Isabel la Católica last year from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares. Now, he is the president of Ifema, without executive functions. EFE
