JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo will meet the President of the United States (US), Joe Biden in Washington DC.
In the meeting with President Biden, Jokowi will convey a number of things about Palestine.
According to Jokowi, the visit to the US was carried out after he completed the Islamic State Cooperation Organization (OIC) High Level Conference (Summit) meeting in Saudi Arabia on Sunday (12/11/2023).
“From the OIC Summit in Riyadh, I will continue my trip to Washington DC on November 12. This visit is a good opportunity to voice Indonesia’s firm position regarding Gaza with President Joe Biden,” said Jokowi in his press statement from Juanda International Airport, Surabaya on Friday (10/11/2023) evening as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube.
“This visit is also a good opportunity to directly convey the results of the OIC Summit in Riyadh which reflects the solidarity of OIC countries to defend justice and humanity,” he said.

After meeting Biden in Washington DC, Jokowi will head to San Francisco to attend the APEC Summit.
In this event, President Jokowi will bring up the issue of sustainable development and inclusive development.
Then, on the sidelines of the APEC Summit, the Head of State will hold several bilateral meetings and several meetings with business circles in San Francisco.
“God willing, my entourage and I will leave San Francisco on November 17 after the summit is over and return to Indonesia,” said Jokowi.
Meanwhile, on Friday evening, President Jokowi left for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from Juanda International Airport.

In Arabia, he will attend the OIC’s extraordinary summit which will discuss the Gaza situation.
Jokowi said that the OIC Summit was important as an additional effort to stop Israel’s attacks on the Palestinian people.
The President also stated that he would emphasize calls for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel to be implemented immediately and humanitarian assistance to be increased.
