President Joko Widodo will apply all Law to increase investment and restore the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic.
This was conveyed by Jokowi during the reading of the 2021 Financial Note at the DPR Building on Friday (14/8). He said that the application of the Omnibus Law is expected to encourage investment and national competitiveness.
“The tax Omnibus Law and the provision of various tax incentives that are precise and measurable are expected to be able to encourage an increase
investment and national competitiveness, accelerating economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, and spurring economic transformation, “Jokowi said.
On the other hand, he said, the state revenue plan is IDR 1,776.4 trillion and state expenditure IDR 2,747.5 trillion.
So, said Jokowi, the budget deficit is estimated to reach Rp. 971.2 trillion, or the equivalent of 5.5 percent of GDP. It is planned that the 2021 budget deficit will be financed by utilizing safe and carefully managed financing sources.
Previously, Komnas HAM asked the DPR to stop discussing the Omnibus Law which is currently being discussed in the DPR.
The pressure was related to the planning procedures and the formation of the Job Creation Bill, which was not in line with the mechanisms stipulated in Article 5 letter g of Law Number 12 of 2011 concerning the Formation of Laws.
This is related to guaranteeing the right to participate and the principle of transparency which is a fundamental element in the formation of laws and regulations.
“The principle of participation, openness, so there is an impression that in the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, people are all focused on overcoming health, the economy, this is being pursued so that it will finish quickly. So there are many protests from the public,” said Komnas HAM.
