Johnson pledges new arms support in Kiev • Ukraine: 4532 people evacuated today

At a donor conference in Warsaw, 10 billion euros fetched for aid to refugees in Ukraine and neighboring countries. This concerns 4 billion euros in gifts and 6 billion euros in loans. €1.8 billion is intended to help Ukrainians who have sought refuge elsewhere in the country, the rest for Ukrainian refugees in EU member states and neighboring countries of Ukraine. The European Commission itself contributes 1 billion euros.

Money pledged by governments to Ukraine goes directly to local authorities, private sector and private donations benefit the United Nations. The donor conference was an initiative of the European Commission and Canada, together with Global Citizen, an organization that fights poverty worldwide.

British Prime Minister Johnson also promised extra financial support to Ukraine. In Kiev, he promised President Zelensky additional military support in addition to a new financial support package. Details about the British support are not yet known.
