Johnny Depp withheld drug reports in lawsuit against The Sun | NOW

Johnny Depp withheld text messages he sent about drug use in 2015 leading up to a lawsuit the actor filed against the publishers of the UK boulevard newspaper The Sun. That is the conclusion of the Supreme Court of London on Monday. The messages were then released.

News Group Newspapers, the publisher of The Sun, went to Supreme Court last week because Depp declined to publish text messages that he was trying to obtain drugs during a trip to Australia in 2015. That was contrary to the public order that the judge previously issued in preparation for the lawsuit, the hearing of which is scheduled for July 7.

Depp complains The Sun because he wife beater (someone who beats women) was mentioned in an April 2018 article. The tabloid wrote that after an argument between Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard, she claims she was subjected to a “three-day ordeal of physical attacks” by Depp during the stay in Australia. According to Heard, the Pirates of the Caribbean-actor under the influence of drink or drugs.

Heard’s claims are supported by the released text messages. “We should have more happy pills !!! ??” Depp writes in a message to Nathan Holmes, his personal assistant. And, “Can I be ecstatic again?” Depp also reports that “he needs white stuff as soon as possible.”

While the lawsuit has yet to officially begin, two former Depp wives and Heard’s former assistant have already testified that Depp has been successful. It shows that Depp has never been aggressive in previous relationships, which The Sun did write in the offending article.

Depp and Heard divorced after one year

34-year-old Heard and 57-year-old Depp married in 2015, but filed for divorce a year later. Heard then filed a lawsuit accusing her ex-husband of assault. Since no evidence could be found, the two reached a settlement.

Two years later, the case came back into the open when Heard interviewed The Washington Post confessed to having been a victim of domestic violence. She did not mention Depp’s name, but the actor sued her for slander. Heard then went back to the judge for slander.
