Johnny Depp testified in British court on Tuesday that he knew his marriage to ex-wife Amber Heard was over when he found shit in their bed after Heard celebrated her thirtieth birthday party in 2016. According to Depp, it came from one of her friends, but Heard says the excrement would be her dog’s fault.
The 57-year-old actor said in a statement – taken on the first day of his lawsuit against the British tabloid The Sun was read in court – that the “actress or possibly one of her friends” had put the stool in their bed and that Heard later claimed it was “just an innocent joke,” reports The Mirror Tuesday.
Depp said the incident happened after the couple had a heated fight. “On May 12, 2016, Ms. Heard confessed to our asset manager Kevin Murphy that leaving the feces in the bed was just an innocent joke actually acknowledging that she had been responsible when she had previously tried to blame our dogs”, Depp said in the statement.
Depp indicated that this was the time when he decided to separate from Heard, with whom he had been fighting a public battle for years. The lawsuit in which Depp is currently testifying is part of a defamation suit he has brought against the British The Sun has submitted. In a 2018 article, Depp called this medium ‘female swatter’.
