The information was formalized in the early afternoon. Johann Authier, now ex-manager of Valence Romans Drôme Rugby (2017-2023) will leave Drôme for the West of France to join the Niort Rugby Club, which plays in National 2.

He signed up for the Deux-Sèvres club for the next four seasons. He will be general manager, as well as coach of the three-quarters. He will not come alone, because the Niortais club has also announced that the former Damiers second line, François Uys, will take up the position of forwards coach.

In a press release, the National 2 club displays its ambition : “at the very least, and quickly, reach the highest level of amateur rugby”. And talk about a recruitment “qualitative” for the next season. A project that is reminiscent of the context in which Johann Authier arrived at the VRDR in 2017, a year after its creation.
