Joachim Löw told what he thinks about the German Rainbow Campaign

The 62-year-old Joachim Löw was the captain of the German national team from 2006 to 2021. With his team he won the title of World Champion in Brazil in 2014, collected two bronze medals at the World Cups (2006, 2010) and a silver at the European Championships (2008), and won the Confederations Cup (2017). However, at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the German national team did not get out of their group – moreover, they finished last – and before the 2021 European Championship it has already been decided that this will be Löw’s last tournament at the head of the national team German. Even his farewell was not the best, because the English beat him 2-0 in the round of 16 of the European Championship, thus eliminating his team.

The World Cup started badly for the national team in charge, lost 2-1 to Japan in their group.

– It is not clear what is wrong with the national team now. Basically I liked the team’s offensive play against the Japanese both in the first and second half, the problem is that these attacks could not be finished and therefore could not be won. And there were problems in defence, so Hansi now has something to do… said Joachim Löw.

Löw: The German national team are still among the favorites for the World Cup

The former national team captain has given a surprising answer about whether he has kept in touch with his successor, Hansi Flick.

– Before the World Cup, I offered to help him with advice at any time, but he replied that there was no more room in his coaching staff. I hope the team continues to improve. I am convinced that Hansi is a seasoned professional and he will be able to correct the situation. Defeat only makes you stronger, and I have no doubt the conclusions were drawn after the fiasco against the Japanese. After the group stage I will also go to Qatar, the moment has finally arrived in which I can watch a World Cup as a simple fan. And I think the German national team is still among the favorites for the World Cup.
