Jo Inge Berget: Leaving Malmö FF and Joining Trelleborgs FF

After four SM golds and a total of 253 matches in Malmö FF, Jo Inge Berget left the club at the beginning of January this year.

He himself confirmed on Instagram that the time in MFF was then over with an emotional farewell.

– Unfortunately, I have to say thank you and goodbye to Malmö FF. Football can be brutal. It feels strange to want to join but no longer be wanted, he wrote and continues:

– I am proud of my time at MFF. Proud of what I have done, who I have been and what we have achieved together.

The Norwegian came to MFF for the first time in January 2015 but left three years later for New York City. After just over a year in the US, he chose to return to the club, but had to leave when his contract expired after last season.

Starts training with the club today

In the spring, there was information that Molde, in which the 32-year-old has a past, and Trelleborgs FF were interested in picking up the Norwegian. That’s because the player lives in Höllviken, located within reasonable commuting distance from and to Trelleborg. But there was no new club for him and the former MFF player is still without a contract.

Now Trelleborgs FF announces that he will start training with the club from today until further notice.

The Superettan club is currently in tenth place in the series.
