Jeremy Clarkson thunders against electric cars:

– Electric cars bore the mind of me. Those cars are like microwaves and they have no soul. I will never have an electric car, says Clarkson to Nettavisen.

This is what the most outspoken British presenter Jeremy Clarkson (61), who is known to many Norwegians from “Top Gear”, says. See the interview at the top of the case!

Together with Richard Hammond (51) and James May (58), Clarkson led the program until 2015 when he was fired as host due to hitting one of the producers. In recent years, the trio has fronted Amazon Prime’s flagship “The Grand Tour”.

Although Clarkson Delete is not a fan of electric cars, he has no problem with those who drive them.

– If there is someone who uses electric cars back and forth from work, that’s fine. I do not care. There are far too many in the world today who should have an opinion on what others should do. People almost have to be allowed to do as they please, he believes.

Started farm

Now the gang is ready with “The Grand Tour: Lochdown” – a special episode that takes them to Scotland. Clarkson is also relevant in “Clarkson’s Farm” where we follow him as a farmer (!) On his new farm in the Cotswolds, an area that is especially known for its beautiful and lush nature.

Clarkson admits that he has become milder in recent years.

– I see myself as a very soft man now, he says and continues:

– This time I have actually managed not to get in trouble. Everything is in the most beautiful order, says Clarkson, who has been criticized a number of times for his outspoken statements.

The recordings of the new “Lochdown” episode went surprisingly well painlessly, partly due to very strict infection control measures.

– Our device took very good care of us. For example, they booked an entire hotel for us and the staff to keep us safe. We also had our own dedicated Covid staff with us at all times.

Was nervous during the filming

However, Clarkson was afraid that infection could break out on the set.

– There were about 50 people involved in the recordings. If one of us had the slightest symptoms, the recordings would end abruptly. There was always a nervousness in the air. It is quite incredible that it went so smoothly with this special episode and in the second episode that we filmed in Wales, he says.

For the British presenter, it was a dream to film in Scotland.

– I have visited Scotland ever since I was a little boy. It was wonderful to film there. There were many who said “Oh, are you going to Scotland?” and thought it was not exotic enough. But for us it was magical. And if you ask someone from Australia, South Africa or Argentina, then Scotland is a very exotic destination.

“Top Gear” profile is dead

However, he admits that the stay was a cold and humid affair.

– We filmed there in September. Not a second went by without me having to use the wipers.

And again, the trio had to perform their own dangerous stunts.

−Several sequences were scary to film, such as the race between the old Soviet and American cars. There is always a danger associated with making this series, but our job is to entertain the viewers, not to worry about ourselves.
