‘Defending Champion’ Jeonbuk Hyundai will hold the official opening game of K-League 1 in 2021 season with Seoul FC at 2 pm on February 27 at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

Coach Kim Sang-sik, who is making his debut on this day, will challenge the 5th consecutive victory in the K-League with Ilyuchenko, Ryu Jae-moon, Choi Young-jun and Kim Seung-dae who joined the team this year.


In Seoul, it is also a concern whether or not the recruiting players such as Na Sang-ho and Park Jung-bin, with the captain Ki Sung-yong, are active.

The matchup between rival teams is also raising expectations. Ulsan and Jeollabuk-do, who had competed to win the 2019 and 2020 seasons, will have their first confrontation at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium on May 26.

The first’Super Match’ between Suwon and Seoul will be held at Suwon World Cup Stadium on March 21, and the first’East Coast Derby’ of Pohang and Ulsan will be held at Pohang Steel Yard on March 13. The season’s first’Suwon Derby’, which was achieved through the promotion of Suwon FC, will be held on March 10 at Suwon Sports Complex.

‘Friday Night Football’ continues this season. A total of 12 Friday night games will be held, one for each team. The first’Friday Night Football’ this season is a confrontation between Pohang and Daegu on April 2nd at Pohang Steel Yard.

Meanwhile, during the ACL playoffs (April 14) and the ACL group stage (April 21-May 7) held between Pohang and Daegu, K-League 1 has a break. After round 9 on April 11, round 10 will resume on May 21.
