In the movies, Malone played the role of Johanna Mason. In her message, Malone looks back on shooting the film, for which she was in Paris, among other things. “That time was extremely difficult for me as I was going through a breakup and being sexually assaulted by someone I had worked with,” the actress writes.
Malone says she has “worked really hard” to “heal.” She also learned how to “make peace with the person who abused me, and how to make peace with myself.” For Malone, who was always “grateful” for her role in the “Hunger Games” films, it was difficult to think back to the shooting period without pain. “But I am now ready to go through the pain and really feel the joy of that moment.”
