Jen Psaki, spokesperson for Joe Biden, will soon leave the White House

Joe Biden’s spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, is about to leave according to several Americans. She is expected to join the progressive television channel MSNBC.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki is preparing to leave her post for the MSNBC television channel, several American media announced on Friday. The “Press Secretary”, returning Friday to the famous White House briefing room after a few days of absence due to a positive test for Covid-19, dodged questions about her future.

“You’re not going to get rid of me just yet,” she joked in response to a reporter, adding, “I don’t have anything to confirm about my tenure” or “about future projects.”

Jen Psaki was also asked about the ethical issues that arise if she continues to respond to all of the press while negotiating future employment with a particular outlet. “This administration imposes on everyone a series of strict legal and ethical obligations (…) in terms of discussions with future employers. (…) I respected (these rules) and also tried to go further,” the spokeswoman said.

A multi-million dollar contract

According to Axios, the first to have revealed the information, Jen Psaki, 43, is in exclusive negotiations with MSNBC, a progressive orientation channel which has already recruited the former spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris, Symone Sanders. According to CNNthe spokeswoman will remain in post until the very popular “Dinner of the association of correspondents at the White House”, which will take place on April 30 in Washington.

the Wall Street Journal reports that she is set to sign a multimillion-dollar, multi-year contract to serve as a political commentator on MSNBC and to host a show on the channel’s streaming service.

Not his first TV job

Since Joe Biden’s inauguration in January 2021, Jen Psaki has said several times that she does not plan to spend much more than a year in this extremely exposed position, explaining that she wishes to have time for her two young children.

The spokeswoman for the White House already has experience of television shows. After serving in various government positions during both Obama terms, she joined CNN in 2017 as a political commentator.

She then joined the so-called “transition” team in November 2020, responsible for preparing for Joe Biden’s arrival at the White House.
