It was on Facebook that Jeffrey Ghazarian’s family announced the sad news. “He suffered a lot and he fought well. We will miss our Jeff every day but we are grateful for all the happy memories we have together,” wrote relatives of the young Californian.
While traveling to Los Angeles for work in early March, Jeffrey extended his trip to Disney World for two days with a few friends. Returning home on March 9, he went straight to the emergency room because he was coughing, coughing up blood and had a high fever.
Coronavirus tested, he was sent home awaiting the results. On March 13, the results fell: it was positive at Covid-19. Back in hospital in a disturbing state, he was directly admitted to intensive care and intubated. He died less than a week after his admission.
The 34-year-old had battled testicular cancer in 2016 and his lungs have been fragile since childhood. As a child, he regularly suffered from bronchitis.
