Jeep safari in Algarve goes horribly wrong: ‘Dutch people seriously injured after fall into ravine’ | Abroad

Five of the injured victims from abroad, including three children, are said to be in serious condition after falling into a ravine. One of them is a 10-year-old boy from the Netherlands; a 46-year-old Dutch woman also had to go to hospital. A 48-year-old compatriot was slightly injured, the regional traffic police reported.

According to the newspaper, the Portuguese driver of the jeep ran into trouble at the end of the afternoon in a ‘difficult to access area’, near the town of Alte in Faro, and fell off a mountain into a ravine. It was difficult for rescue workers to reach and help the victims because of the environment. The injured were taken to hospital in Portimão and the touristic Faro.
