Jeanne Mas Opens Up About Childhood Sexual Abuse and Retirement Plans in Candid Interview with Liberation

“I never felt like a victim”

Someone who has lived in the United States for several years has not always lived there. Jeanne Mas was born in 1958 in Alicante, Spain. The interpreter of “In red and black” grew up between Garches and Vaucresson, two towns in Hauts-de-Seine in France.

However, the artist “does not wish to reveal anything about his parents or his childhood”as the daily indicates, she confided and explained that it was a period “difficile” of his life. She states in particular “having suffered sexual violence in his youth”.

If she did not want to comment further on the subject, Jeanne Mas nevertheless provided some information on her feelings. “I never felt like a victim. He had the power of the body, he will not have the power over my head”she detailed to our colleagues at Release.

She also explains that she does not want to be linked specifically to feminism. “I don’t really like being associated with movements. I am not against men, but for them to be educated”she underlined, cited by Leisure TV.

Now aged 65, the artist also fears “to no longer be good enough”.
