Fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier announces via Twitter that he is celebrating his 50th anniversary with a big couture show. That will also be his very last show.
The 67-year-old French fashion designer posted a movie on his Twitter channel in which he makes a telephone call. In the video, he invites people to come and visit his last show.
“It will be a big party. It will be the last time that I will give a catwalk show,” he says.

He also says that the haute couture brand Gaultier Paris will not stop and he will simply remain in charge. Gaultier says he is working on a new project that will be revealed shortly.
Gaultier showed his latest ready-to-wear collection in 2014, indicating that he was fed up with the fast pace and commercial pressure of contemporary fashion. He not only makes clothes, but also perfumes for women and men. His men’s scent Le Malle came on the market in 1995, and is one of the best-selling men’s fragrances in Europe.
Gaultier’s last show will be held in Paris on January 22.
