Javier Dueñas, new CEO of Campofrío Spain, Professionals

Sigma has appointed Javier Dueñas new CEO of Campofrío Spain. Dueñas, until now Managing Director of Campofrío Frescos, will replace Paulo Soares, who will lead Sigma’s new Developing Markets Area in Europe.With this new organizational structure, the Company intends to strengthen its business strategy in Europe to meet trends and needs of customers and consumers, and promote its commitment to create sustainable value, thereby strengthening its position in the global food market.

With an extensive professional career linked to the food sector, Javier Dueñas has more than 25 years of experience in the Company, where he has held various positions of responsibility and assumed great challenges. In its last stages, Dueñas was the Financial Director for Southern Europe and the United States and, since 2015, he directed Campofrío Frescos, the business unit specialized in fresh meat products.

Graduated in Business Administration, Javier Dueñas has a extensive training in business management with postgraduate degrees at Deusto (MBA), Iese (Management), Instituto Internacional San Telmo (Senior Management of Agrifood Companies), London Business School (Corporate Finance) and Standford University (Executive Management).

For his part, Paulo Soares will go on to lead Sigma’s new Developing Markets Area in Europe, with which the Company wishes to seek new business opportunities in Portugal, Italy, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Soares’ experience and proven capabilities throughout its evolution both in Spain and in the rest of southern European countries will be essential for identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, accelerate growth in other markets and strengthen the company’s positioning in the region.
