At 46:30 min. the clock stopped for Jan Sibbersen at the Ironman Hawaii 2018 for the 3.8 km swim. For almost two years the sailfish founder has been preparing for the record hunt in the Bay of Kailua-Kona. Thanks to the perfect swimming conditions, the 43-year-old managed the almost impossible, staying 14 seconds below the 23-year-old swimming record of the American Lars Jorgensen. Insights into the hunt for the Kona swimming record can be found here in a video report that is well worth seeing.
