Running back James Conner will continue his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals.
On Monday, the team announced that the 25-year-old had initialed a one-year contract. However, she did not indicate the financial terms of this agreement.
Conner played the first four seasons of his professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had his best moments in 2018, amassing 973 yards and 12 touchdowns. He had also obtained an invitation to the Pro Bowl game that year.
Since then, the production of the running back has fallen dramatically. In 2020, he had 721 yards and six majors in 13 games. The Steelers have chosen not to offer him a new contract.
On the side of the “Cards”, the organization had to find a replacement for Kenyan Drake. The latter chose to continue his career with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Conner will wrestle with Chase Edmonds for the senior running back position in Arizona.
