Jamaican Shericka Jackson wins the 200m at the Worlds in 21”45, 2nd performance in history

She was the big favorite and she didn’t flinch when confirming her status. Jamaican Shericka Jackson (28) won the 200m world title Thursday night in Eugene in the supersonic time of 21”45 (+ 0.6 m / s), the second in history behind the world record of the American Florence Griffith-Joyner (21”34 at the 1988 Olympics).

Jackson was well ahead of her compatriot Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the straight line, to count 26 hundredths ahead of the line! Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith won bronze in 22”02.
