Czech striker Jaromir Jagr, who continues to play at 50, has surpassed Canadian Wayne Gretzky’s record for the number of goals in a professional career, informs portal iSport.cz.

On February 5, Jagr scored for his Kladno in the Czech Estraliga match with the Trinec club (4:5).

For the 50-year-old striker, this goal was the 1099th in all tournaments (in the major leagues in North America and Europe, as well as for the national team) and he surpassed Gretzky, who scored 1098 goals in the NHL, WHA and Team Canada.

Gretzky, 62, retired in 1999, is the best scorer, assist and scorer in NHL history.

Jagr described his accident with a tram with the phrase “I thought this was the end”

Jagr began his professional career in 1988. In 1990-2017, he played in the NHL, won the Stanley Cup twice (1991, 1992), and since 2018 has been playing for Kladno. On February 15, he will be 51 years old.

Kladno is in last place in the standings.
