Tupac Shakur was “wounded” by Jada Pinkett Smith years ago when the actress allegedly asked the American rapper not to harm Will Smithwith whom he was dating, according to a friend of the late musician.
Now, almost a month after the slap of Will Smith a Chris Rock at the Oscars for a joke about his wife, a 2021 interview with the friend of Shakur and collaborator of Outlawz, Mutah “Napoleon” Wassin Shabazz Beale.
In the interview, Napoleon is asked about Pinkett Smith and Shakur’s relationship.
“I had a lot of love for Jada Pinkett and a lot of respect for her”Napoleon said on The Art of Dialogue YouTube channel.
Pinkett Smith and the rapper grew up together. They first met at the Baltimore School of the Arts in Maryland in the late 1980s and became close friends.
However, the friend claimed that he once saw the rapper get upset over something Pinkett Smith said to him.
“The second time I probably heard him talk about her was when he went to Los Angeles. He was really upset, you know what I mean? Pac walked out of the room and said, ‘Jada, she’s going’ to contact me and tell me Don’t do anything to Will Smith. So Pac was upset.” said the rapper.
“I don’t know why she thinks I would try to create a problem with Will Smith.”
“So I guess it hurt a little”Napoleon added.
The late rapper’s friend shared that he thinks Shakur was okay with Pinkett Smith dating the star. “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” why “I had no choice”.
